SPECIAL GUEST
Nina Power
Nina Power is a former philosophy professor, author and cultural commentator. She is the author of the book “One Dimensional Woman” and the soon-to-be-released book “What Do Men Want? Masculinity and Its Discontents.”
It was a pleasure to host Nina for an engaging 90-minute conversation about her exploration of the state of men in the current cultural moment, and relations between the sexes more broadly.
Her research included an investigation of the various men’s rights movements, along with an expansive inquiry into what men are thinking today. Nina brings solid left-leaning bona fides to her research, but treats the subject of modern masculinity with an even-handed, and sometimes sympathetic touch.
Our conversation also included an extensive segment on marriage and the transactional state of modern dating and relationships. We explored how relationships have become disposable and all the ways that contributes to widespread and mutual unhappiness.

Nina recently appeared on The Stoa in a four-part series titled “Men & Women: The Future of Love, Sex and Friendship w/ Nina Power.” The links for that series are here:
